Lets see those Aquarium Entrepreneurs!

I'm doing an essay for entrepreneurship and I wanted to get a couple of opinions on:

1. What you should look out for when opening an aquarium shop?
2. What the average startup costs (excluding the shop) usually is?
3. What are the main reasons for you opening an aquarium shop?
4. whats your reason for beng an entrepreneur?

This sounds like a cool subject to talk about anyways,
the more feedback the better.

Thanks,
Mike

There are many, but they often don't post. Too busy. I would check in the Responsible Reefkeeping, Advanced Topics, and Coral Propagation and Aquaculture Forums here on Reef Central. I believe Anthony Calfo had some good information on something like this when he had his forum. It should have been moved to the Advanced Topics Forum, I believe. You might also want to look at a book called The Book of Coral Propogation. It's not necessarily about setting up a shop, but it has a lot of very useful information that just about any store owner could use.

Reefs.org has in industry section that has many posts on this subject. These guys don’t like giving industry secrets but will give some good advice. There is another site that was created specifically to help new stores but I forget what it was.
