I am sure i am overthinking this but to make my 120 stand level in my house on hardwood floors, i am just baffled. front to back to level it i need a 3/4" board under it. side to side it is maybe a 1/4" difference. what is the best way to level it but still supporting the stand all the way around?

I used wood shims but I understand your dilemma. On my tank it looks like most of the weight is now on the shims and not supported the entire length of the stand. I did put shims in every 6 inches or so. Couldn't get to the back but it didn't need as much.

If your stand has 2x4 or bigger legs, you only need to shim the legs. If it is a commercial type stand with no substantial legs, I would level it with shims, then measure the gap at each side. If you hace access to a table saw, you can cut a tapered board for each side and the front. Put them under the stand to see if it is level and adjust if necessary. When its good, tack the strips to the bottom of the stand to keep them in place.
