LF: 54 Gallon Corner Bowfront Aquarium

I know this is a long shot. I recently bought a corner tank. Stand and canopy are in perfect condition. The aquarium is all scratched up. When I bought it the guy said he had just cleaned it that morning so it was all fogged up because it was sitting outside. Once it cleared up is when I seen how damaged the tank actually was. Lesson learned.

Anyway if you have or know someone who has this tank with black trim please let me know. Or have even seen one at a LFS.

Is the tan you bought acrylic?

If so, I can restore it for you.

I have a 54 corner bowfront. If I sold it, my wife would kill me! Lol

It is glass...not real deep scratches but a ton of them. I see why she would kill you. It's a great looking tank.

I seen the one in Mundelein. Has the wooden frame, not the black like I am looking for. Plus I only need the tank. The stand and canopy that I do have are in perfect shape.

Maybe the scratches won't be visible with water in the tank?

You can always buff out the scratches. Fairly easy; drill (cordless or corded), polishing pad, polishing compound and water. Youtube it, not hard at all. Just takes a little time.

Yep. Use some cerium oxide powder and a felt buffing wheel with an arbor to attach to a drill. You don't need high grade cerium oxide and the cheapest stuff works just fine.
I'm sure other techniques work also, glass is "soft" and is easily polished. Here is a video:
