LF: Skimmer for a 500g+

Picked up a 540g tank today and skimmer is undersized. Looking to upgrade the skimmer to something that will run all 500 gallons or possibly another ~300g skimmer to run in conjunction with the current skimmer

It could work as a dual skimmer set up. I'm going to be running it in a heavy load FOWLR, so I'd be afraid of it by itself.

Can I ask what is the first skimmer that is undersized? can that one be modded to make it work for what you need? what are you keeping in the system? SPS. LPS softies and zoas. Not questioning what you need but it matters on what your keeping. The skimmer Bobby is selling would do great for a 540g softies with some LPS added. Its A great skimmer and worked great for his 300dd. If your going for a SPS/LPS. LNS or ULNS. then its not enough. So we need more info then just a tank size. How often do you plan on doing water changes? As sad as it might sound are you in this for the long haul? If you are then You might want to go commercial. Like what a lot of LFS have. Not the normal home skimmer. If its going to be light stocked with lots of rock then you might get away with something a little under.

Original skimmer is a Super Reef Octopus 3000int.

I bought the system for the tank only basically. It wasn't well kept and lots of changes need to be made to turn it into what I want, but I'm very flexible, not a name brand snob, and have room to go different directions with almost any aspect of the build.

I'm sure I'll be posting a lot about it soon. This board is much more active than Orlando, which I'm closer to. I appreciate and comments or criticism. I'm definitely a beignet compared to most of you.

Reef Octopus Elite 220int. Mine looks nice and well built but I haven't plugged it in yet so I can't say how it performs yet. Specs look good. Should do a 500 fowlr easy.
