LFS Morish Idols

I went into one of my LFS today and they had 2 Morish Idols. They didn't look to hot but they were swimming around and looking for food. One of them had some white looking things floating off its fins.
I know they don't have a good survival rate in captivity. I was actually entertaining the idea of getting one and trying to nurse it back to health. I wanted to post on here to find out what you guys thought. I know that I am going to get bashed. If you had one or still have one please post your experiences and give me some advice on what I can do to try and treat him. I think I read that they need alot of rock work, they feed on sponges.

I know this is a long shot but I know they will not last a week in the store. They feed flake food to everything.

My tank has been running for 1.5 years now. It is established and it will have plenty of pods for the MI to graze on.

Never kid yourself into thinking that you can nurse a sick fish back to health. 80% of the time, you will end up with a dead fish and a hole in your wallet.
Keep in mind that many sick fish who have some kind of parasite do not respond well to drugs because these leave the animal highly vulnerable to secondary infections. This then warrants the use of antibiotics if the anti-parasite medication did not already kill the animal. Using antibiotics to non-selectively kill all the microbes in the system which will cause ammonia levels to rise. It becomes a big mess.
Find a better store that takes good care of their fish .

U can also look at the thread on MI here. It is very informative and you can learn from it that they usually prefer to take dry food, and definetly don't need pods.
