Lids on tank?

I'm looking for ways to reduce humidity on a future tank to be located in the garage. Anyone have experience putting clear acrylic lids on your tank to minimize evaoporation? The idea is that the sump would still evaporate and allow gas exchange. I can more easily vent the sump area because it is enclosed under the stand.

Looking for anyone who has tried this route.

I always put lids on my tanks on winter, helps keep the temps up with less heating needed. The sump is always opened.

Now on summer I do remove the lids to promote evaporation and help reduce water temps.
