lifereef calcium reactor

I bought a used lifereef reactor, skimmer and sump from a local reefer off of craigs list. He had the equipment up and running on a 320 gallon tank, I installed the sump and skimmer on my 90 gallon tank but waited to set up the reactor until I could get new media for it. I ordered a bottle of A.R.M from marine depot and cleaned out the reactor. Now I have had the reactor set up, low pressure side of the regulator reads 6, and the tank is about 1/3 of and inch from the red "order gas" part of the gauge and the bubble counter has a steady 1 bubble a second going through it. My problem is that the effluent Ph will not drop below 6.7 (Effluent is measured through the reactor with a Milwaukee controller) I have had it running for a couple of days first with a stream coming from the output of the reactor but have turned that back to a fast drip. The only thing I changed from the original set up was I went from using the guys old rio 180 pump to a rio 800, is that the problem? I see other lifereef reactors using stronger pumps then the rio 180 so I thought I would be ok. Or do I need to turn the output from the reactor down even more to get the Ph lower?
