Lifereef vs Korallin Ca reactor?

I use a pre-filter made for the aqualifter so I do not get any buildup inside the reactor at all :) In fact, I do not even run a sponge or pad inside the reactor as I use large media. This totally eliminates any clogs or flow restrictions over time internally. Even at 6 months, it is very clean inside. Just some random stuff that does not fully dissolve when the media breaks down.

A tee off the main return works great, only if it is done right, sounds like yours is setup right! :) So many screw it up or get a lot of air into the reactor via micro bubbles that they lock the reactor all the time.

And last, you are correct. Effluent is effluent :) You can take it from anyplace on the reactor 'barring spots more likely to clog" and results would be the same. That is why I choose to only have 1 output line from the lid which eliminates any trapped air. Adjusting two lines and maintaining two micro ball valves or needle vales is rather.... undesirable for me.
