Light fire again!!!

Anyone good at wiring things up? I replaced the end cap on my t5 today. After putting everything back together 4 more endcaps caught fire. I did not touch any of these you could just hear them sizzle when i cut them on. Guess I will be on the lookout for some 48" t5s

I remember sweating through wiring mine up. I think the wiring can depend on the ballast. I wired up 6 Tek retrofits, which was a maze of wires. I followed the diagram on the ballast. It may not be the wiring, though -- is there any chance at all that some salt could have gotten into the endcaps? Are they new, and are they the waterproof ones?

wow. Is this retro? Good thing you were around. Did you see actual flames? GFI in use? What ballast are you using? My T5 I soldered and shrink wrapped all the connections and never had an issue like this. Icecaps treat me right. I did decide though togo back to VHO for my actinic use. If you need some endcaps let me know. I have 2 pair. My bulbs though are 36".
