Light Height and Temp

Hello I'm new to the hobby and I'm looking for some suggestion on how high my lights should be off the water of my 90 gallon corner reef tank. I currently have glass covers and I have the light resting on the glass. I noticed that my temperature raise a few hours after the lights come on. I have a Digital thermometer on the left side almost to the bottom of the tank and I get these readings. In the morning its around 80 degrees by the evening 80.8 On the right side I have a Digital thermometer 3" below the water line and I get readings in the morning 80.2 and in the evening 8.9 or 81.2. In my sump I get a reading of 79.9 - 80 degrees throughout the day and evening... My 300w Ehiem heater is set to 75 degrees right now and is sitting in the overflow area of the tank. I also have 2 Jebeo RW8 wave makers pushing the water around on from both sides of the tank along with my return. My light setup consist of Aquatic Life 4 lamp 48" T5 fixture 1- 10k bulb 1-12k bulb 1-Actinic 460 and 1-Antinic 420. I would like to start add some corals in the next few days but would like to make sure I have the light correctly positioned and not cook the corals... Also what's the Ideal temp for a fish and reef tank ? I see some people say 79-80 while other say 80-82.

Thanks in advance Mike

In general 76-83 deg F is a good temp range..

As far as if your lights are in the right spot.....well..
Its really trial and error.. There is no easy button on that one..

And yes its quite normal for lights to raise the temp of the water...

FWIW.. (and its not worth anything really) I run my t5's about 8 inches off the top of the water surface..
