Light Intervals

I have a 10 gallon with a 28 watt PC 50/50 over it that I am using as my frag tank/QT at the moment. As I have no new/sick fish or any inverts other than corals I was curious whether it would be advisable to increase the amount of time that the light stays on? Would that help everything to grow faster or just mess everything up completely. I have mostly low light corals (e.g., green star polyps, zoas, etc.) and a blue tip acro frag in the tank... if that matters. I'm fairly new to the reef thing, so if this is a stupid question, my apologies.

I would run it about 12 hours a day. Mainly because that's not much light(although fine for a QT) and in that case running it longer helps.
