Light Recommendations for Coral QT

Can you all recommend some cost effective light solutions for a coral QT tank? I have radions on the DT, but would prefer not to sink that kind of money into a QT light. Can I use the same setup as my refugium ( hardware store light with 6500k bulb)?

depends on what type of corals are goin into the QT tank, but the 65k prolly wont be enough...

if your looking to spend the least but it still be affective. this is one of those times i really dont mind bargain shopping...

LEDs i would go with the evergrow d120, its an LED fixture like you have on your main display. so corals will be used to LED lighting. they are super cheap. very effective..get them on eBay

or go with a 4-6 bulb T5 lighting fixture (number of bulbs depends on your sized QT tank)..they come with built in timers and moonlights to match your DT settings. these can be cheap also from eBay. i would just switch out the stock bulbs with ATI bulbs and your set to go..

now i dont normally recommend cheap fixtures, but since this is just a QT, i would personally look to spend least as possible. and wouldnt mind goin cheap for a QT..

hope that helped some

We have a cheap chinese-made ebay LED fixture that we bought used -- I would suggest something like that. Agree that cheap is the way to go here. I also like that it's similar to my DT light (so I can acclimate while in QT), and can support an anemone if (when) I decide to try my hand at one.
