I have to mount it like that because my tank is 48" wide i need to get access from both side of the light rack...

Have you considered lifting rather than sliding? I toyed with the idea of some linear motion systems usually intended for automation use but to get access to the whole tank at once meant using super long rails. Looked at slide bearings and rails for a really smooth and precise motion.

If looks are an issue look into a lift of some sort. Either by pulleys or a motorized system. I used an actuator and the steel wires that came with my pendant.

JARHEAD GREAT EXAMPLE!
YOU HAVE THE SAME ISSUE I HAVE BASICALLY EXCEPT I ONLY NEED TO GO ONE WAY NOT BOTH.
WHERE DID U GET WHEELS AND TRACKS FROM?
WHAT R THEY CALLED ?
