Lighthouse controller power strip with Apex

I have the power strip from an old Lighthouse controller when the controller went bad. It has the same control input as a DC4 (ethernet cable type). What are the odds that I can plug the power strip into the Apex and have the outlets conrollable?
The one thing I DO NOT want to do is fry or mess up my Apex. Is this a concern?

I would ask Neptune Systems (www.neptunesys.com)

and the DC4 uses a RJ-11 (Telephone cord) not an RJ-45 (Ethernet cord)
