LIghting?? advice

i plan to get a small 2" clam but i dont know if i can keep it. I have a 12 gallon flat back hex tank from clear for life. It has 2 36 watt Ah supply bulbs one atinic one regular. is this enough light? any species recommended? this will be my first clam  :bum:

I am not sure if my tank can keep a clam and if not then i wouldn't want to buy a book about them.If i find out my lighting is suitable then i will buy that book. I need to know whether it is ok or not before i use my money on a book. :bum:

Ok how about going to the local Library and requesting the book? It will answer all your questions regarding clams in the aquarium. Your light system is too weak for T. maxima and T. crocea, but might be ok with other species. However most Tridacnids will outgrow your 12g tank.
