Lighting and turnover question

I have a 100 gal with 420 watts of VHO. I want to start a reef tank and need advice on what I can keep witht my current lighting. I also was considering a mag 9 or possibly a 12 for my return pumps. Any advice?

Combine Actinic with 50/50s and it should be fine. A bit of both...

You will be able to keep a great deal of corals with that lighting, SPS and clams and a majority of the harder to keep anemones are going to require you to step up to Metal Halides and more flow.
