Lighting during Cycling

You don't even really need the light. Ambient room light would be fine really. Also gives you time to mess with the light cycle, get the settings where you want/like them.

I find that the less light the better helps to avoid algae growth while go get water stable prameters

No light needed..
But its fine if you want.. It can just cause algae to grow (which is gonna happen anyways so you might want to just leave the light on to get that started sooner rather than later)

Also don't be afraid to do water changes during cycling to keep nitrate levels from getting too high..

Thanks again, i am aware of corralene algae being purple and positive? But should i be clearing off any other algae as it appears as too much phosphate not a good thing? Although I do plan on a cleaner shrimp and would like perhaps an algae blenny or some sort of blenny as my first fish eventually.

The algae will go away with time provide you keep nitrates/phosphates low..
Its normal as the tank is "maturing"..

And yes the "clean up crew" which would be snails,etc.. will take care of some of it.. But as stated some algae (diatoms/hair algae,etc..) is normal and will go away.. Just keep those levels low..

No need to manually remove/disturb it unless its not going away on its own as the tank "ages"
