Ok Here is the setup 6' long tank 30" tall 24 deep I'm currently running 6 reef optix III pendants over it ( all sps tank), question is how would you set them up all 20k, all 10k, mix em up and what would you run for a lighting schedule. Right now the current setup is 20k14k20k14k20k14k in that order 20k's run from 11am to 10pm 14k's run from 2pm to 7pm , what would you do ?

Your set up is almost the same as mine. I have a 180 with 6 250's over it and (4) 110 watt VHO's.

Vho's on at 10am.
20K's on at 11 am
10K's on at 2pm
10K's off at 7pm
20K's off at 9:30 pm
Vho's off at 10:30 pm.

Tha biggest difference between your set up and mine is 10K vs. 14K and the VHO's.

Wow guys, that sounds like an expensive way to do things..Why not just get 3x400w????

Yes I could, but it would not allow for the variety of spectrum and ramping up and down from full intensity.

BTW if you are worried about expensive, find another hobby.

That's a lot of light for 72 inches, you could get away with 3 250s and lumenarc reflectors.

Once again, would not allow for varied spectrum.

I have to agree at least for my personal taste once you see the too kelvin's mixed 20k and 10k or 14k it creates a perfect color balance and allows a lot of options. ( Iwouldn't have believed it myself until I saw it first hand)
