Hi all,
I'm brand new and super excited to get into the hobby. I just ordered a Nuvo Fusion 20 (24"L x 15"W x 13"H) on a great black Friday deal, and I have been relentlessly trying to find what equipment I want. There seems to be so much conflicting information online that I find myself researching for hours and still not having much of an answer. I am on a budget, and while I know this hobby ain't cheap, I don't want to break the bank. I would like to spend around $200 or less.
I am really looking to grow low to medium light corals, and I do not plan to buy anything beyond beginner level. So for lighting, here is what I have narrowed it down to (Note that the concerns are questionable because I'm not certain about any of them):
Aquamaxx Prism 24-36"
Pros: Price, controllable sunrise/sunset
Concerns: Not enough light, not much info or reviews
AI Prime HD
Pros: Quality lights, controller
Concerns: Spread. I have read I could need 2 for this tank.
OceanRevive T247
Pros: Timer, Good reviews
Concerns: Ugly, not sure if UL listed (worried about safety)
Reefbreeders Nano Light Plus
Pros: Wifi controller, good brand
Concerns: Not enough spread (may need 2), discoballing (not sure what that is)
2 Reefbreeder Nano Light Touches
Pros: Probably good spread with 2
Concerns: No timer/controller (not sure if that matters if I buy outlet timer), not seen many people with this light
I have read so much that I am getting so confused, so any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
