I have a 130gal reef tank with approx 150 lbs live rock. The dealer retrofitted super actinic 110 watt 3 white and three blue. Told me at that time I could probably keep most corals with the exception of the most difficult. Is that true?

you may be able to keep many less light loving corals-shrooms/zoas/xenia/-but to get into some other species I believe you may want to move up to vho or mh(metal halid) & some are having luck w/ t5
lighting is a very debated topic and all have thier opinions -but it is very much dependent on the corals you wish to have

do you want to have alot of fish? or more into the corals - or like me a bit of both?

lots of factors
but anyways welcome to reef central!- Alpha

are you saying you have six 110-watt bulbs, or a total of 110 watts?

I totally agree with alphaferret. Compile a list of what you want first, and then see what lighting they need. But, most likely, you may not have enough light for the most light-needy corals.

bh got your pm- yes that would but you have 660 watts is what you are saying

i thought you meant reg flour.

yes you are alot better w/ that -still not the best - but i have vho and like them- but will move to mh and vho combo when I go larger

how old are yor bulbs-they loose the quality you need after about a yr.- may want to re up on those

good luck to ya
