lighting for eclipse sys. 12

hi, im new at salt water fish tanks.
i want better lighting for my eclipse system 12 tank. i have live rock, live sand and started out with reel ocean water that i bought at petco, ya that ok laugh. but im willing to do what it takes. so if any body can please show me where i can upgrade

You have to get rid of the entire filtration unit. Then remove the lights and seal the door. Yes, seal the door or you won't have space to mount the lights. For feeding you could drill a 1" hole or two on the top. You'll also need to make some acrylic box to seal whatever lights will be installing the system. Two small PCs could fit in there. The ballast will have to be external.

I have a Retro kit from JBJ with 2 96 watt bulbs, one actinic and one daylight. I have the fixture hanging over my Eclipse 12. Of course the hood is off, but I still have my original filtration since the unit is hanging over the tank.
