does anyone know of a company that makes a 30" mh/pc or T5 combo? 24" would be to short, i guess it could work, just wouldn't look as good, 36 would be way to long.

Hamilton makes a retrofit 30". I have one and am very pleased. It is 175 MH and 2 x 96w PC. Extremely simple to install in a canopy... and even easy to open up the ballast cases and replace a ballast if the do fry on you.

yea, i thought about that...or something like that but my tank doesn't have a canopy, this is what i'm working with
