Lighting hours

Hello,

I am currently running my aquarium LEDs for 5 hours per night is this enough for photosynthesis to take place, should I run them for longer?

Thanks

I typically run my blues twice as high as my whites. The coral color seems to pop a bit more at that ratio and I like the color balance. Coral grow well. Coral can thrive in a wide spectrum of color balances though, which is why there are so many options available. It's partly for coral health, and partly personal preference as to how you want your tank to look.

There's a TON of info on color spectrum and lighting intensity as far as coral health goes. I like to keep it simple and remember that adjustments just need to be taken very slowly. Stability is most important, so if you have LEDs, try to resist the urge to constantly tweek the settings.

Thanks.

In relation to the % what is the general ratio between white to blue?

There are too many variables..
A lot of it is personal preference.. Some like their tanks to look like a bottle of Windex and others like proper color rendition/more daylight,etc...

Its also highly dependent on the specific light fixture you are using..
