lighting issues on my 10gal

I've been ruuning my 10gal for about 6 months now and haven't had any issues. But, I've noticed that my corals don't look as "happy" as they usually do. The only issue I have with the water is my phosphates are reading .1 ppm Everthing else is fine. I have a 175 MH 10k on it now. The bulb is 6 months old. I had a 40 w pc 50/50 laying around so I raised the MH up to about a foot and add the PC. The corals have started to look a little better. Could my bulb be bad in the MH? or is a mix of the 2 types of light better for corals. I have a mix of corals. Or is it the phoshates?

You didn't mention what type of corals they were but they could be appreciating a little more "blue" in their life ;) If you were getting a new bulb anyway a 14 or 20k may be worth checking out as most that I've seen running one halide on a tank use a higher kelvin bulb than 10k. I use t-5's tho so I possess KELVIN SPECTRAL SUPERIORITY to all MH users  :D :p

I have 1 green and 1 purple Montipora digitata(small frags), octopus coral, Moon(pinapple) coral, 1 neon green leather(very small), 25 or so neon green dragon eye zoanthids and a small bunch of pumping xenia. when I got the digis I thought that the MH was 20k but after looking(like I should have before getting the montis) I found it to be 10k. I'm working on a stand for a 40 gallon that I hope to have running by the end of the month and everything will get moved into that.
