Lighting need help to pick new one.

Need to change PC light fixture on 75 tank. I see new types. I need ideas of types and sizes of fixtures for soft coral. VHO,T5ho,MH, LED ? Also which ones you may had problems.

There are some people that swear by metal halide, and some PC. It all depends on what you are going for. personally I love the look of a 15k metal halide with actinic vho's. Makes the water look great. plus you can get a good amount of light to the bottom of the tank with the halides. Dont get me wrong you can do that with vho's and pc's, but it will take more bulbs to have the same lighting. hope that helps some.

Thanks for input I like MH on my 120 but a lot of heat. What watt is good for softies?

I Think you need some where around 6 watts per gallon, a little more if its a deep tank. Im not 100% sure on that. but that may be for harder corals. softies might be closer to 3 watts per gallon. either way you cant go wrong with a fixture that gives you 400watts of total light. thats close to 6 watts per gal.

Ok I had to go to LFS and get a fixture I went with 3 watts per gallon.
I got a nova T5 4-54watt and that puts out 2x more light than the 4-65 pc fixture I had more close to 4 -5 watt it puts out of light.
