I run a 72" 2x96w on my FOWLR and recently one of the bulbs went out. While I am waiting on the replacement to ship I have noticed something kind of strange. The fish like to stay on the darkened side of the tank more than the lighted side. They don't stay there the entire time but more like 60/40. It got me to wondering. Does this more reflect natural lighting the fish would encounter in the wild? As in...shadow from a reef shelf and direct sunlight? It is not unattractive and even has me considering ditching the 72" for one 48" to be placed on one side of the tank while leaving the other in shadow. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks !
