lighting question

Im doing a nano tank about 7gal and I was wondering if I can use a 27watt fluorescent light (6500K) as a temporary light just to cycle up my tank? I'm just kinda anxious to put something in my tank. Later I will put in a MH fixture but I just dont have the money yet.

MH fixture that seems a little over kill on a 7 gal tank, but the light will be fine for the cycle.
