lighting recommendations for a mixed reef?

I am building a 65 gallons mini reef and have a Razor 420 10K on order. My question is how much power should I set it to?

The tank is about 25 inches deep and I want a wide range of inverts from low light LPS to a giant clam or two. I'm thinking about setting the LED to around half power and stocking the lower light items first then slowly cranking up the light and adding the higher light things later. The blue and white channels can be adjusted independently for power and timing. Any suggestions? How fast can corals adjust? Would it be something like %50 power this month then %60 next month and so on or more slowly?

Thank you.

I am just getting int corals myself, but your plan seems spot on from what I've been told. When you first put coral in you can adjust the light itself, but after your tank already has coral, and you decide to add more, then instead of adjusting the light, you start the coral at the bottom of the tank, and move it up a bit every week untill you get it where you want it. The speed of increasing the light also matches what I've been told. I'm expecting to get my LED lights in friday, and pick up coral frags at a swap saturday morning.

Good luck with your new tank

Educating buying helps as well. I like to know what lighting type and intensity the coral I'm purchasing is at. Some purchases go right to their permanent home. As far as your lighting specific questions a razor guy can surely help with that. Best bet is to get a feel for how things do. Once acclimated, it's hard to replicate the sun and most coral will be fine on whatever your light can put out. GL
