Lighting requirements for S. haddoni (carpet nems)?

DRS lists these requiring high lighting. And I've seen them discussed here under high lighting. But is that really true? And if so, why? It's non-photosynthetic, right? So why would in need high light?

Am asking because I've considered a small one as an addition to my other meat eaters. But I'd like to try to put it in an area with only indirect light.

Thanks.

I'd be concerned about putting one in your 29G whats your current set up and are your other "Meat Eaters"?
Dead wrong about them being non-photosynthetic they require a lot of light.

I kept one for a couple of yours in my 75 under 6*65 PC, but it started to look a lot better once I upgraded to 2*250 MH + 4*54 T5.

All of mine (( have 5 )) are kept under MH, ( 2 2*250 + supplemental, and 1 tank of just 250 MH. )

Thanks for the feedback.

I was only looking at getting a very small one - 3". Plus I've got a 180 in the wings that I'm building, so it would not have a chance to outgrow the 29g. But that's all moot anyway because:

1) I didn't know they were photosynthetic.
2) While I'm growing coral fine in the 29, I want this in spot in my tank that is shaded.
3) So I'm not getting one - can't give it the light it apparently needs. Not in that spot.

Thanks for the help. Getting a carpet is going to have to wait for the 180!
