lighting suggestion for this tank???

I am looking at a tank to display some claims. its a 55 gallon tank, 48" long and 12'' wide but only 8 inchs tall.

would be setting us a a clam show tank but not really sure how to light.
Give me some good choices for this!!!!!!!

yeah...your right..its the FOOTPRINT of a 55 gallon....Sides are 8 inches high...

any suggestions on lighting?

At 8 inches tall basically anything can light it. I'd go w/a 4x54w T5 array b/c it'll be low heat, long bulb life, and certainly will penetrate 8 inches. The teklight hoods are nice and cheaper than a retrofit setup. reefgeek.com among others.

by my calculations that is only 20 gallons is it a screwed up breeder tank of some kind

Its not screwed up at all....

It was a custom made tank for a LFS sent by a wholesale distributor. I am wanting to use it for its intended purpose as a clam tank....

I'd go with 2 150 watt HQI pendants.
