i have a 8 bulb t5ho light and 90gal with glass center brace will t5ho light get to hot and crack brace if i sit it on top with no leg there is about 1/2" of space between light and glass

I would say that you should brace it from both sides at a minimum, as you would do with any light.

Do you have pics of what you are planning on doing? That might help us help you out.
