Lightning and lps

Hey guys (and gals :)),

Friend of mine asked me "probably" simple question:
IS it possible to keep most of the lps' in 75gal tank (about 20 inches high) under 4*96watts pc light?
The reason I ask you here is I have never had 75 gal tank and never had pc lightning which I heard is not the best light for corals, so I don't want to give him bad advice. I know for sure that pc will give him a lot of heat and bulbs must be changed every 6months, but it doesn't scare him :)
Any advices? He already have tank and light is installed in the conopy and prefer not to change the set up.

thanks

that should be ok for most lps. he might want to avoid putting stuff on the sand because it might be a little to far from the light, but overall that should be plenty of light everywhere else in the tank.

That would be fine. I've kept all kinds of LPS in our 55 using 4x65 watt PCs for several years. NEver lost a coral. Your friend will be fine.

Not that PCs are the same......but, FWIW, I keep a plethora of LPS under just 2 x 54 T5s (with the IRs)......and I get a little growth as well, so I know they dont hate it. : )
