lightning options for a 20 gal

Just wondering what kind of light would be the best for a 20 gal I have a 250 watt halide but I'm not sure I wanna use that light on that small of a tank unless yall think it would be ok
 
What are the dimensions on the 20? I'd think that unless it's ridiculously tall, I'd not want to run more than 175watts.
 
I think the 250W would be a little on the side of overkill. Are you keeping softies in there or SPS also? If you are not keeping SPS i would ditch the halides all together and go with PC's or T5's. I prefer T5's if I am not using halides, but I have had PC's and softies did just fine for me. Just my two cents in the bucket.
 
Its going to be mixed I was thinking about a 150 halide t5 combo fixture but wow that's a chunk of change
 
Robert, if I was setting this up I would go with LED over a MH/T5 combo, IF you were going to buy new lights. for that tank you can do it for around 200 bucks.
 
I will be sure to check out all the links when I get home on the computer if I sell my tank I will have the money for a awesome led light so some one buy my tank lol
 
The mods closed your thread on the tank sale. Do to you haven't been a member of RC that long. You need 90days under your belt.
Put it on the our club website and Graigslist. Good luck.
 
Yeah I seen they did that you would think they would catch the people with like 10 post trying to sell stuff but oh well even though its closed can you still read it or not
