Lights Camera Action

Hi,

I'm setting up a new larger tank, and am going to be ordering the package next week. I hope the weather cooperates for you

I've read the site and instructions over carefully, as well as lots of other threads, and I'm unclear on what the lighting schedule should be during the cycle and in the early weeks of the tank.

Specifically on the smaller tank I run the PC actinics for 12hours and the MH mid day for about five hours.

What schedule should I follow initially?

I plan to run the the two tanks in parallel until the new tank is stable and has the same lighting schedule.

If it was me (Richard may clarify), with combo lights, I would start with like 5 h PC w/1hr MH for a few days then up to 6-7hrs PC and 1MH for the next few then 7/2 , 8/2, 9/2, 9/3, 10/3 and so on until you are back up to 12/5.

Something along those lines just so you don't shock anything too much cuz its not crystal clear where this stuff comes from . After you get part 2, you may want to cut back again for a week or so. I run mine 12 hr PC/4hr MH late afternoon/evening for viewing and that is roughly what I did.
