Ok...help me decide the lights for my new 30 gallon tank. I was thinking about the JBJ viper 2 or the Sunpod. I would go with a 150 watt with either choice.
Thanks all!

it depends on ur budget.... i just purchased the coralife 150w MH HQI for my 29g tank.. and its bright as heck...its around 200 inless u find a good deal somewhere else used but its worth the money.

Sunpod for sure. I like the white & blue LED's. They have seperate plugs so you can use white as sunrise and blue as sunset.

i got the coralife MH 150 w from hello lights. but it was 250 plus shipping.. a bit pricy but defenetly worth it.. but i would agree with the sunpod idea .. prob cheaper

Guys and Gals...do you notice much of an increase in the ole electrical bill per month when one adds a 175 MH. Don't want my husband on my case.

I have a sunpod 150 and am happy with it. I have never used or seen the viper so i cant comment on that.

I have a 175 retro above my 30g. I had 192 watt of PC before. The only "problem" is that the reflector was longer than the tank is wide (front to back).

It all depends. Some run 12 hours some less than 10. I run mine 10 hours. On at 1:30 PM off at 11:30 PM. Unless you already have the equipment, I think you'd be better off with a 150W. More light and the bulbs last longer and reflector doesn't take up as much room.
