does zoas like much light or less light?
i have a 4bulb t5 fixture, looking to upgrade to a 6bulb but i was wondering if it might be too much light, tank is 18'' deep.

My zoa's showed their real colors when I went from t5 to MH. They can grow in most any light but mine look their best under a brighter light.

Brighter light is better for most of the species of zoas!
T5s and MH are the best.
If you have a good reflector they will love it!
T5s are enough for 18" tank. Less heat and more options to combine the bulbs.
Just make sure you have the whole surface area covered and should be fine with t5s.

Yes.
Get a fixture with good reflectors and an eficient colling system, like the ATI!
Change the bulbs every year or so.
"White" bulbs normally help with the growth, so make sure you have the balance of "white" and "blue".
My basic bulbs are Aquablue Special (ATI) and Blue Plus (ATI).
Good luck!
