I have 110 watts of PC on my 25 gallon sea horse tank. I just keep macro algae, and it seems to do pretty well.

ReefNutPA New member Jun 29, 2006 #3 You're right... seahorses don't need any special lighting. If you are planning on just seahorses, a standard flourescent strip light will do fine. If you're planning on any macroalgae or polyps or such, you'd definitely need to upgrade the lighting with a power compact. I'd save any corals/halide lighting for the 180g reef you're planning Tom
