lion fish in a 56

hey i have a 56g tall tank i was wondering would a smaller lion fish live fin in it with a huma huma trigger and a smaller snow flake eel it have about 80 lbs of live rock

triggerfish might nip on your lionfish's fins, so I'm not too sure, a smaller species of lionfish would be the fuzzy dwarf lionfish, or the Fu Man Chu lionfish.

I have a Picasso trigger and would love to keep a fuzzy dwarf lion but people have told me that triggers would nip at the lion's fins. Another thing that concerns me is the chance of a fish getting stung accidentally by the lion fish.

I had a 56 tall. Not suited to any triger IMO. A smaller lion would be fine, along with the eel.

well i got the dwarf and the huma huma doesnt bother him at all he just flots around relaxing im thinking about also getting a hawk fish but maybe too much for the tank

Watch that lionfish closely. He could be in big trouble when the huma gets bigger.

Which hawkfish and which "red grouper"?
Actually, for the grouper it won't matter, because any of them would be too big ultimately. They also add a lot of waste to a tank that already has two big waste producers.

1. Why, in the first place did you ask for advice, and then not even heed the warnings at all? Also, like someone said, the lionfish's fins will most likely get nipped.

2.The grouper is probably a Flag Tail Grouper, and will definitely get too large for your tank, and pollute it to high heaven (like above poster said.)

3. With the hawkfish, I think that the lionfish might try to eat it, I had a friend who had this happen to her, and I do not think that one of the larger species of hawkfish would be very happy in that sized tank, now I could be wrong, but be careful.

well the dwarf is doing fine hum huma is the same size and isnt bothering him im getting a 75g long and eventually switching them so i can add sum more fish

You'll know that their not doing fine together when the lionfish gets torn to shreds. That's the problem.
If this is going to happen, a 75g won't be big enough to prevent it. Their relative sizes aren't really relevant. Rhinecanthus triggers can do this to much bigger lionfishes.

well there together and no problems so i guess i just have the gift been together for a week now didnt even go near it

A week does not count as success. They're barely even settled in. Let us know how they're doing in 5 or 6 years.
