Lionfish Skin Condition?

Hey guys,

I have had a Dwarf Fuzzy Lion for going on two weeks now and I have noticed his skin is a little weird looking up by his head. It seems like his color is fading or losing pigment or something?

Here is a couple pictures:

It's hard to tell on the top one, but the bottom one you can see there are little squares by his face leading back to his side fin where it kind of looks like he is losing color or pigment or something like that.

Does this look like something I should be concerned about?

Yes, its D.Zebra, as for the discoloration of the scales around the face, I would keep an eye out for this to determine if its advancing.
there are a number of things it could be, first thing that pops up is HLLE, but this condition will advance over time, second could be scale sloughing due to illness or injury
So please keep an eye on this

Is his right eye cloudy or is that just the picture?

I've also seen that in approaching bacterial infections. My volitans also got that appearch from repeated parasitic infections. But that was an advanced stage.

Feed him varied and well and add some vitamins (I like adding vitamin C to the water column and Beta Glucan to the feeds). Keep and eye on water quality and environment stability. (Temp swings can be an issue this time of year for some).

It wa cloudy at the time of that picture, but I have since done a water change and my params are a lot better and it has since started to clear up, but the skin appearance is still there.
