Little discussion - Bounces, bubbles, what have you

A couple of us in the group have been for some time now questioning the validity of all these new found bounce mushrooms. I mean the other day I saw a discosoma “bounce” so they are no longer specific to the rhodactis mushroom species. I mean these things are now flooding in. Currently guys overseas are still to this day dying leathers and tongue corals- I know from being at the shop as they come in and we joke with how long until it dies (usually a week). So the thought of someone seeing dollar signs and manipulating these animals is not too far off the reservation now is it?

Let’s examine something we came across last evening. What are the odds this bubble landed perfectly in the center of this awesome rainbow chalice. Not a common bland color chalice mind you, a rainbow of sorts. Now I am not calling anyone a fraud, let's make that clear, but what the heck is going on here folks.. Thoughts

And to be clear, Cornbred confirmed last evening this is in fact a real pic and he has this coral.

What I find interesting is how I don't really like the corals with bumps/bubbles. Looks like a deformity and disease like and takes away from the actual piece to me. Funny how each to their own on these bubble corals. Just my 2 cents

The rarity factor plays in like in all hobbies and life. However I am questioning the so called rare factor when everyone has them now. FFM was a great observation to this, everyone was selling a bounce. I see the wholesale lists and they are charging vendors big bucks for them. It really is nuts.

I don't get it either, but since I've been in this hobby there is something that will always be trendy. Right now, it's the Bounce. This too shall pass

Its driving the price of ALL shrooms. Its really is out of hand right now. I was lucky to score a colony of some from Frost for cheap, but those deals are few and far between.

Some of the wholesalers are asking more than retail... it's crazy. But they sell! So my guess is that we are fortunate in CT with so many hobbyists that the bounces, jawbreakers etc... are plentiful.

I believe when it's more common to find the prices will be dropping but there's people asking crazy money

Some retailers are out of their bleepity bleep minds...people need to learn what a rainbow colors is...different tones of blue does NOT equal rainbow. Blue, orange, red and green...that's a rainbow combination. But people gotta make a living I guess.
