Little giant 4MDQX service

Hey everyone,

I have a little giant 4MDQX as my return pump on my 90gallon reef. How often should I clean this pump. I have been using it for a year and a half and never cleaned it. It's plumbed with unions so should... "should be easy to remove and clean. My question is how often and how do you clean this pump. I don't know how to take it apart. I do put oil in the yellow caps every 6 months.

Any info would really help me out.

As long as you keep it oiled you are good to go...You can unscrew the wingnuts and take the face plate off and clean the shaft from time to time if you wish but I dont really think it is needed unless something as gotten sucked up into the pump..I have several LG Pumps that have been running for many years without any problems
