little help please

i recently found a long, red centipede looking creature sticking out from the rocks. i pulled it out and found it out and found out that it was about 3 inches long... i think it might be Sigalionidae but im not sure. has anyone had this problem or think they know what it might be and how to treat it..

Yep, so far without a photo it sounds like a ("harmless" depending on who you talk with) bristleworm.

Did it look like this one?
