Little spider webby things

I have these strands all over my tank. In some cases they look like a almost invisible feather duster. In others it looks like fine thread or webs all over the tank.

Any idea what it is?

hard to tell from that photo it looks like a ball anemone but what you are describing sounds more like a type of snail that lives in tubes and shoots out webs to catch food particles in the water.

OK. I guess they are 2 different things. I will try to get a decent photo of the webby things.

Are ball anemones good or bad?

Thanks!

Keep nutrients low and don't overfeed. If you stick with this you'll definitely see a decline in the population over time. GL.

Yeah I have them in my tank. I hate em, they expel that web to catch food. It can however upset some coral I have heard.

If it had polyps then it's a bank anemone if it's stringy from one rock to another attached like a web them it's a vermetid snail. Find the shell and smash it then put a dab of super glue. If it's aball anemone then keep nutrients low and will starve of you don't want it

I pulled the rock out and used a torch on it (small one) I would say wear glasses though because it exploded and shot out liquid lol.
