I just got my live rock to go on top of my base rock. While I am definately excited to finally get live rock I liked how I had the base rock set up. I think I overbought with the live rock and had to hide a couple of big peices in the back. My question is if in about 6 months when all the base rock is seeded could I sell off the live rock I just recieved and have the same diversity of critters in my tank or do most stay in the live rock it came with?

Most of the critters will move around/multiply and the bacteria will spread...you should have no problems at all

Probably critters but not the porosity that live rock has. Wether thats good or not to have porostity I dont know
