ok so my lfs has a give away for live food right now so i wanted to try live brine shrimp and blackworms. are these good choices as a treat? will the blackworms or brine shrimp procreate if i set them in a side tank?

Any live food is a good treat for your fish :) I feed mine mosquito larvae and they love it.

The brine shrimp will procreate if you provide them with an adequate setup and food source.

Yes, but live brine is not very nutritious. Black worms are and are readily consumed by many fish.

I agree. Worms are a natural food for copperbands. And, the fish can't resist the "wiggle".

ok i bought some blackworms and fed them to the tank. a few fish ate them but the cbb ignored them. is that normal. i thought that he would be excited but he just kept picking at the rocks
