live food

Is it possible (more like a good idea) for me to feed only live feed? I would be feeding phyto, pods, brine, and rotifers. I know I would still need to put the vitamiin enriched nori but... do I need other vitamins? I want to make sure everybody is getting a properly balanced diet.

Currently tank has: 1 yellow tang, 2 jawfish, 2 watchmen, 1 lawnmover blenny, 1 mandarin, 1 coral beauty, 1 firefish goby, 9 green chromis, 1 long spined urchin, 2 flame scallops, 1 cleaner shrimp, ridge hammer coral, torch coral, xenia, bali slimer, plate coral, toadstool, green star polyps, yellow polyps, various mushrooms, various zoos,

Thats it for fish but we will be getting lots more corals and inverts.

Thanks for any input you may have!

You're going to need something a lot more meatier than what you listed. At the very least, live mysis shrimp, maybe even gut loaded would be the largest source of nutrient rich, live food. Truthfully, it doesn't make a difference if the food is live or not. The nutritional values of the food is the most important.

I cant answer your question but I will let you know its labor intensive ... I had set-up a mysid culture, brine culture, pytho/rotifer culture, and a amphipod/copepod culture.

Took up way to much time

I definately can't do the mysid live that's too much. But I'm always up for a challege. So I'll try the others.

Sub mysid huh? Should I continue feeding the same about of mysid as I do now? Or should I reduce the amount?

Thanks again!
