live rock in Q tank?

bought new fish and want to quarantine them. one is a carpenters wrasse and the other is firefish. both needs hiding space esp the firefish. im thinking of adding a piece of live rock from my display tank.

im doing hypo treatment and i am wondering if the bacteria will survive in the live rock. should i add live rock? or just get more pvc pipes?

Just add more PVC.

LR can be used in a QT but should be pulled out before any kind of treatments. Hypo can kill the LR and cause an ammonia spike. Some meds will be absorbed by rocks and become less effective. Copper will leach into the rock and then you can never put it back in the main tank.
