Live rock on the way!!!!

I have ordered 60lbs of LR and it will be here Friday Tank is set up and running with RO/DI water and salt is at 1.024. So the water should be free of most everything at the moment.
I can get 60ish lbs of fine sand Tuesday.
Question is would i be better off putting the sand in the tank or in a fuge that is not setup yet and running the tank BB?
I plan on cycling the LR in the tank. The only real filter is a fluval 304 with two bags Chemi-Pure and two Poly Filters. I have a sump but it is only big enough for the protein skimmer and return pump.
Total i have about 1,400gph turn over rate with about 400gph running through the sump
Also how bad is the tank going to stink up the happy home so i can prepare the wife and try to keep the home happy

Its not going to stink that bad unless the rock is realy bad and has alot of dead stuff on it. I would split the sand up and put some in my refuge and some in my tank unless your going bare bottom.

didnt stink that bad for me...

only thing that smelled was while cleanning i discovered one of the rocks were a GIANT clam...with all the dead stuff insidide...i think the gooey stuff made me gag more than the smell.
