Live Rock Question???

I recently have been trying to catch an Oenone fulgida worm and tonight I saw him poke out of his usual rock and decided that was it. So I pulled the rock out and have been soaking it in saltwater that I pulled from the tank with alot of Coral Revive in the hopes it will kill him or run him out. So far it has been about 2 hours and I have saw nothing. My question is will this rock start to die off if left in a bucket of saltwater loaded with Revive over night?

IMO you should just dip the rock in hyper salt water 1.035 or more. that will usually get every thing to come out of the rock fairly fast.

I can't say what will happen soaking the rock overnight will do.

Thanks shifty. Anyone else have any opinion on the Live Rock? I am just curious because I do not want to put a rock in my 29g if it is dying off. I would rather just let it completely die and then put it back that way I dont get any spikes.

Well I don't know if the revive killed him inside the rock or what but I added salt to the water in the bucket and still nothing. I am 99% sure he was still in that rock when I removed it but he never came out. Do you think that he died inside of it? Plus does anyone know if the rock will have die off from doing all of this?

Sometimes, having something certain is better than not knowing. Did Revive overnight kill him? Maybe yes, maybe no. Will the rock have some die off after overnight in a salt water tub with with revive? Maybe yes, maybe no.

IMO, the better thing to do is drop that salinity to 1.009, put a powerhead and an heater in that tub. The hypo will kill that worm, and any other invert in the rock. The beneficial bacteria will survive, but you definitely will have die off from any inverts in the rock. You can rinse off the rock before you put it back in, or you can fully cook it first. As my sig says, just IMO :).
