I have just purcashed live rock thru the internet. It has been soaking since Friday in saltwater. What else should i be doing in order to place this in my tank. And when and how will I know its ok to place int he tank.

do you have a powerhead and a heater in the tank with the LR? otherwise just keep testing the water for ammonia, and nitraites and when they are to zero then check your nitrates and do a good size water change when all read 0 your ready to add to the tank

Usually there are some die off during shipping if you'd bought cured LR, or if it is uncured LR then there's gonna be lots of die off. You need to cure it first.

Since you have it in saltwater already outside of the tank you can cure it there. Test for ammonia and nitrites. First you have ammonia spike then nitrites, then they should drop to zero. When it happens - you're done, rocks are safe to use them in tank.

Some tips on curing:
- scrub off with soft brush what appears to be dead matter.
- blow junk from holes and pores of LR with powerhead or turkey baster
- keep water salinity and temperature as close as possible to what you have in tank, and keep it stable
- provide good water circulation in where you're curing LR (the more - the merrier) ;)
- perform frequent water changes of 25% or more
- run skimmer

hope this helps
